New Magic: The Gathering Event!

I'm very pleased to announce the start of a brand-new event for L.A. Mood Magic Players: Sunday Afternoon Elder Dragon Highlander.

Elder Dragon Highlander (or EDH) is a fabulous casual format for players looking to make use of the cards they have in their collections that are fun to play, but don't quite cut it in today's modern decks. It's a format that wants you to play big, splashy, expensive sorceries and creatures for some wild fun you just can't get anywhere else in Magic!

Elder Dragon Decks are built around a General, a Legendary Creature whose colors define the kind of mana and colors of spells your deck contains. EDH decks consist of 100 cards, one of which is the General, and no two cards can have the same English name (with the exception of the five basic lands). A full explanation of the format can be found at http://mtgcommander.net/rules.php.

Elder Dragon Highlander will be a fully supported format in 2011 with the release of the Commander boxed set from Wizards of the Coast! Get in on the ground floor and start crafting your winning strategies and devastating decks!

Sunday Afternoon Elder Dragon Highlander runs every Sunday, starting January the 9th, at 12:30 p.m., and runs alongside our Pauper Events - you can participate in either every Sunday. FNM Prize foils available to the top placements and the more participation, the more prizes there will be!
